I always say I’ll only post if I’ve got something interesting to write. You might find this interesting.
I’ve been quiet because I’ve been focussing on writing. I finished one manuscript, edited it a bit, and put it on the back burner because I wanted to start writing something new.
Except the characters wouldn’t let me go.
So I’ve been writing a sequel, which I’m about to finish. I read publishing and marketing advice that holding back publishing book one is a good idea so you can publicise book two at the back of book one. And now I’m about to do the same with book two, because the characters are still living in my head. Although I will probably stop at a trilogy (well, I’ll see if they are a bit more popular.)
I enjoy writing, even if my debut story, A Charming Bequest, hasn’t sold many copies (so far). Newbie readers seldom sell many it seems, but I achieved a lifelong dream getting a story written, published and Out There. I won’t give up until I’ve tried publishing a few more stories, the experienced writers advise to do that. There might be some readers out there who enjoy my work to make it worth my effort.
All I can say is my writing is my ideas, written in my ‘voice’, not edited within an inch of its life to be so curt it’s almost unreadable, and I certainly will never use AI. Who wants to read something written by a robot? I find those ChatBots you find on ”Help” desks extremely irritating, unhelpful and so damned frustrating. (I want to talk to a human!!!)
